How ChekGu works: one week, one correction loop
Ordinary online tuition teaches a topic and hopes students understand. At ChekGu, after every class, student homework is checked, the mistakes most students make are found, and the tutor fixes them in the next class. Real tutors teach and review. ChekGu does the repetitive checking.
One week at ChekGu, day by day
-
Day 1Class
- TUTOR Teaches the concept in a live Zoom class.
- TUTOR Shares the class recording and worksheet (3-5 KBAT questions) on Telegram.
- STUDENT Attends class and receives the worksheet.
-
Days 2-3Solve
- STUDENT Answers on paper, takes a photo and sends it to the Telegram bot.
- TUTOR Reviews the answer photo against the marking rubric and gives feedback and a hint.
-
Day 4Deadline
- TUTOR Reminds students who have not sent their work and updates their parents.
-
Day 5Analyse
- TUTOR Reviews the answers and writes the Diagnostic Brief: the top 3 traps and the students who need attention.
-
Day 6Prepare
- TUTOR Prepares next week's worksheet from this week's traps and reviews the marking rubric.
-
Day 7Corrective class
- TUTOR Opens the class with the class's real data and fixes the top 2-3 traps. Writes a short comment for students at risk.
- STUDENT Sees their own mistake fixed live.
-
Every 2 weeksReport
- TUTOR Prepares a progress digest based on each student's progress.
- PARENT Receives the progress digest on WhatsApp: what improved, what is still weak.
Illustration, not real data: 'Many of us forgot to convert the unit in Question 2.' That is the kind of trap the tutor opens Day 7 with.
What your child needs to do
-
Attend the live Zoom class with the tutor. If they miss it, the recording is on Telegram.
-
Answer 3-5 KBAT questions on paper, take a photo and send it to the Telegram bot before the deadline. No special app is needed, only Telegram and Zoom.
-
Read the preliminary score and hint from ChekGu, try again, and attend the corrective class to see the mistake fixed.

The ChekGu's role: checking, not teaching
What ChekGu does
- Reads the photo of the answers.
- Marks against rubrics written by ChekGu tutors.
- Gives a preliminary score and a hint.
- Groups the whole class's mistakes into a Diagnostic Brief.
What ChekGu does not do
- It does not give students the full answer.
- It does not replace the tutor. Tutors teach every Zoom class.
- It does not give final marks. ChekGu scores are preliminary, and tutors review the scripts ChekGu is unsure about.
- It does not use official SPM marking schemes, because official schemes are not published. Rubrics are written by ChekGu tutors.

Tutors teach. ChekGu checks. You see the result.
Real tutors teach
Every Zoom class is taught by a tutor. The tutor writes the marking rubrics, reads the Diagnostic Brief and decides what needs fixing.
ChekGu does the checking
ChekGu reads the homework photos, marks them against rubrics written by ChekGu tutors, and gives a preliminary score and a hint. The score is preliminary, not final. Tutors review the scripts ChekGu is unsure about.
You are updated every 2 weeks
A progress digest goes to your WhatsApp every two weeks, so you know what improved and what is still weak.
Why we use KBAT questions
KBAT questions test whether a student can apply a concept in a slightly different situation. That is where many students lose marks. Our weekly worksheets use 3-5 KBAT questions so the mistakes that show up are the ones likely to appear on the real paper, not just memorised practice.
