Questions and answers

What is ChekGu?

ChekGu is online SPM tuition for Form 4 and Form 5 students in Add Maths, Physics and Chemistry. The name combines 'cikgu' (teacher) and 'check'. Classes are taught live on Zoom by tutors, and homework is checked every week so real mistakes can be fixed.

How do ChekGu classes work?

Each week the tutor teaches on Zoom. Students answer 3-5 KBAT questions on paper and send a photo to the Telegram bot. ChekGu gives a preliminary score and a hint, then groups the whole class's mistakes. The tutor fixes those mistakes in the next class. Parents get a progress digest on WhatsApp every 2 weeks.

How It Works

Does ChekGu replace the tutor?

No. Real tutors teach every class, write the marking rubrics, read the class's mistake summary and fix them. ChekGu only helps check homework and group mistakes.

Is ChekGu's score the same as a real SPM mark?

No. The ChekGu's score is preliminary, to help students see where they went wrong. Tutors review the scripts ChekGu is unsure about. The score is not a prediction of SPM results.

Does ChekGu use the official SPM marking schemes?

No. Official SPM marking schemes are not published. ChekGu uses marking rubrics written by ChekGu tutors.

Does ChekGu give students the full answer?

No. The ChekGu gives a hint so the student thinks again. The tutor goes through the full solution in class.

What is the Free SPM Weakness Diagnosis?

Your child answers KBAT questions for 15 minutes through the ChekGu Telegram bot, and you receive a 1-page report on where marks are lost. It is free and you are not obliged to enrol afterwards.

What about my child’s data and privacy?

Students are minors, so the parent or guardian is the person we contact and who gives consent. Our form does not ask for your child’s name or IC number. Homework photos sent to the bot are used to check work and prepare class summaries. Full details are in our Privacy Notice.

How much are the fees, and how do I pay?

Fees are monthly by subject; see the Pricing page. Payment is through a payment link we send on WhatsApp (FPX or card). No payment is made on this website.

Does ChekGu guarantee a particular grade?

No. We do not promise any particular grade. SPM results depend on each student’s effort and readiness. What we provide is a clear process: homework checked every week, class mistakes fixed, and parents updated every two weeks.

What do we need to prepare for classes?

A phone or computer with Zoom and Telegram, plus paper and a pen. [MATERIALS REQUIRED TO CONFIRM].

What if my child misses a class?

The class recording is posted to Telegram after the class, so your child can watch it later.

Are there subjects besides Add Maths, Physics and Chemistry?

For now, Add Maths, Physics and Chemistry for Form 4 and 5. Mathematics, Biology, History, Bahasa Melayu and English are planned for later, with no dates yet.
